Asset Retirement
The Regal Groups Asset Retirement Program is a key component
of our commitment to provide you with effective technology
services throughout the entire lifecycle of your PC assets
and network infrastructure. Our program allows you to recover
value from your old assets with which to offset the cost of
acquisition of new equipment.
It is usually only when the time comes to purchase new PC
equipment that most organizations begin to think about what
to do with old obsolete hardware. While obsolete equipment
may no longer have a value to you, it may still have residual
market value, either as whole units or as a source of individual
components and subassemblies. By recovering that residual
value, you are able to partly offset the acquisition of new
hardware while outsourcing a costly storage/disposal issue.
For on going asset retirement clients, we provide periodic reporting
on all asset retirement related activities.
Federal and/or State regulations are in place governing the
disposition of computer systems and all materials, component,
subassemblies, etc. that are classified hazardous. Unawareness
of and/or failure to adhere to these increasingly important
environmental impact issues and regulations can be very costly
and dangerous.
Our experience has taught us that disposal of your old equipment
should result in either creating a financial gain or minimize
the expense and liability of the disposal process. There are
a number of ways to accomplish this:
Inventory
One of the least popular, time consuming and costly tasks
is that of doing an inventory audit of the equipment. This
applies to equipment in use, that which is determined to be
obsolete and de-installed equipment. Your cost for inventory
audits can be reduced considerably with the help of Regal.
We routinely audit inventory for clients prior to and following
de-installation assignments.
De-installation
Regal provides on site de-installation and removal, including
packaging, freight, etc., of your obsolete systems while allowing
you to trade the residual value of the hardware for the cost
of de-installation. Serial number and/or asset tag number
reporting can be provided for all such de-installations.
Diagnostic Testing
Regal can test and remanufacture systems and/or components
for redeployment by your organizations. We can also test leased
units to confirm operating condition as well as refurbish
units to meet leased configuration requirements.
Hard Drive Wipe
For any systems that are de-installed and/or refurbished
for remarketing, Regal provides certification of the destructive
deletion, to Department of Defense (DOD) specifications, of
any proprietary and general software as well as proprietary
and general data, contained on the hard drives (HDD) of such
systems.
Remarketing with Revenue Sharing
The Regal Group has a global client base, many of which are
continually looking to acquire specific equipment. Regal can
facilitate the remarketing of some of your de-installed hardware
to such client, thus allowing you to recover value from your
old assets with which to offset the cost of acquisition of
new equipment.
EPA Compliant Disposal
The EPA enforces stringent regulations on electronic recycling. Almost all components contain toxic materials that cannot be disposed of in landfills. Regal's 11 years experience in technology disposal and recycling gives us expertise in avoiding these problems.
Warehousing
Many clients need temporary climate controlled storage of equipment during infrastructure changes. Regal provides a secure web-based inventory data for real-time information flow.
Complete Recycling
Regal provides a full range of disposal-related support services
including the recycling of obsolete units to meet EPA disposal
regulations and we manage these issues safely to protect you
from any liability. Regal deals only with end recycling companies
that meet the all the certification and licensing requirements
of the EPA.
